Citizenship Week 2011

Citizenship Week 2011

This year Manford Primary School linked our Citizenship week with the 2012 Olympic values.

Year Two were give the word RESPECT to think about and base our work around!

We talked about the Olympic values as a whole and then focused on the word RESPECT and what it meant both in general and to us personally.

We made posters to show how to show respect to others and gain other peoples.

Finally we made kites in pairs and decorated them with the word respect.

We flew our kites in the field on Friday afternoon and had a great time doing so!
Citizenship Week 2011 was a great success and enjoyed by all.

Year Two's trip to Grange Hill Methodist Church in Hainault

Last November Year Two had a very enjoyable visit to Grange Hill Methodist Church as part of our RE curriculum.

We were hosted by a lovely lady named Christina who is very active among the methodist community in Redbridge.

We learnt about the order of a Methodist Service and were shown a number of artefacts that are used during worship.

A Christian Bible.

The children all really enjoyed our visit and learnt a great deal!

The children listening intently.

We hope to visit Grange Hill Methodist Church again as it proved to be a valuable and fun educational visit.

Year 2 Trip to St Paul's

On the Week beginning 28th June all of year 2 went to visit St Paul's Cathedral.

We looked at maps of the local area to plan how we would get there and then we planned our journey on the underground.

We had an excellent tour of the Cathedral. After lunch we went to the Millennium Bridge.

Can you tell what they are?

Christmas Production 2009

This year we perfomed 'The Nativity'. This was the traditional story of Christmas. All the children performed really well and the singing was excellent.

Mary, Joseph and the donkey!

The excellent Narrators.

Some beautiful angles!

What the children thought:

My favourite part was ' Ring out the Bells' - Sakina 2H

I was a shepherd in the play. I had to say "Ooh! We've brought some lambs for him," to Mary and Joseph. - Kitty 2H

I had to sing a song and I had to do choreography - Rafail, 2L

My favourite part was when the kings gave baby Jesue presents. The whole play was fantastic. - Denis, 2L

I liked following the donkey to Bethlehem. - Tommy 2B

My favourite part of the nativity was enjoying myself on the stage and making my Mummy smile. - Lauren, 2B
